Tired of spending hours looking for that important certificate, document, report or statement?                                          Does your spouse have those important papers filed away, but you have no idea where to find them?                If you had to evacuate your home quickly, would you be able to gather all your important papers and carry them with you?  This binder can solve all of the above scenarios and more.

Assembling Your Binder

To put your House of Order binder together, purchase a 3-inch or 4-inch binder and a lot of sheet protectors.  Print the pages from this web site that you think you will need and slip each page into a sheet protector.  The pages tell you what you should consider storing in your binder. Gather your papers and put them in sheet protectors.

Birth certificates, marriage certificates, passports, Social Security cards, household inventory and photos, health reports, insurance papers, copies of the front and back of credit cards you carry in your wallet, burial information, etc... each of these should be placed in a sheet protector so they are clearly visible and and protected from wear and tear.

Keep your House of Order binder in a briefcase or backpack (the rolling backpacks are excellent because this binder will become very heavy) and in a secure, yet easily accessible place. You will be using the binder often to access needed documents, and you will want to be able to "grab and go" in a time of emergency, so keep it handy, but safe.

Make sure your close family members know about this binder and where it is stored.  If something happens to you, the contents will be most helpful to your loved ones.  Should someone have to assume guardianship of your children, they will find all the needed health information (doctors, dentists, etc.) and school information to help them care for your family.  Knowing the name and contact information for your attorney, banker, church leader, neighbors who can help, etc., will be invaluable.
